Yesterday, we discussed how I am a runner.
Today, let’s discuss what I like to do after a long run.
Most distance runners will tell you food is the first thing they want post-run. Food and beer. (Though it doesn’t necessarily have to be in that order.)
I met Rachel last fall when a mutual friend of ours invited me to train for a half marathon with her, Rachel and another friend. I agreed, wanting to get back into running after the brutal Texas summer, and our foursome met several days a week around the Dallas area for our runs throughout the late summer, into the fall and early winter. As the training got more intense and the Saturday morning runs longer, we began treating ourselves to pancakes and other breakfast foods post-run.
While I’m currently not training for a race, we all still love brunch.
Who doesn’t love a huge plate of pancakes after finishing their longest run of the week with extra syrup, butter and blueberries?
