Back when I visited Lake Charles in February, I took Melissa and Jake’s engagement portraits. That afternoon, after a lovely wedding shower, Melissa and I went out to make her bridal portraits with her mom and her sister, Leslie.
It was a chilly and windy day in Lake Charles, which made some of the initial locations we wanted to try nearly impossible, but we made it work… and we ended up in a lonesome field as the sun was setting. Melissa was a trooper, and the final images are GORGEOUS.
Melissa’s mother, Ree, snapped some photographs with her iPhone as we were finishing up our portraits in this mud-filled field with the gorgeous, golden light, and she sent them to me. As someone who hardly ever has images of herself at work, this was a fun insight, and I am so happy to have these images! (You’ll note that I’m wearing Melissa’s coat, which was a little small, because it was so chilly and windy!)
We had a blast for the portraits, and everyone was thrilled when we called it a day, moving back into the warmth of the car, and then proceeding to eat delicious TexMex food that evening with Melissa’s family and their friends.
Melissa, Ree, Leslie and y’all’s entire family: Thank you for being SO wonderful to me and making this engagement and bridal portrait weekend such a fun experience!
I’ll be back next week to share favorite images from Melissa and Jake’s beautiful March wedding!
