Back in February, I trekked down to Lake Charles, La., to photograph Melissa and Jake.
I met Melissa and Jake in college at LSU, and we’ve been friends through the years, hanging out at tailgates during football season and other various social events. At one point when we all lived in Louisiana, Winston and I spent a weekend in New Orleans. Melissa, Jake and some of our friends took us to Jacques Imo’s, one of my favorite and most decadent food experiences to date. We had a blast, and it was so much fun spending time with our friends and getting to experience their favorite places.
Last year, I was thrilled when they reached out to me about shooting their wedding. In preparation for their big day in March, we got together for both engagements photos and bridal portraits that February weekend.
We spent a beautiful, chilly morning in downtown Lake Charles, walking the waterfront and streets, making several beautiful images.
These are some of my favorites:
I had a blast photographing Melissa and Jake, and I’ll be sharing more images from this weekend, as well as their wedding weekend, on the blog soon!
