This afternoon, I want to share another Best of 225: Entertainment & Nightlife 2012 winner — the Baton Rouge Zoo, which won the Best BREC Park/Facility category in this year’s awards.
Back in March, I was sent to the Zippity Zoo Fest, which was celebrating the Zoo’s 42nd birthday. I was told to make sure to get some good images, as the Zoo had won a Best Of award, so I did my best to get various shots from the activities going on that day.
I had a blast walking around, seeing all the animals and interacting with the parents and children who came out for the event. And I like to think I captured the festival — and the essence of what the Zoo is all about — through the several photos I turned in for this award.
