This year, 225 added a Best Seared Ahi Tuna category in the Best Of 2012: Dining section, and Bonefish Grill was the winner with their Ahi Tuna Sashimi.
This assignment was one of my final Best Of assignments, and it was a quick one, as I had to dash in, then run out after to make another previously scheduled meeting. I visited Bonefish during the afternoon hours, when it wasn’t open, and almost immediately after my arrival, the manager brought this dish out. The tuna, itself, looked delightful, and we easily set the scene by placing the final dish on the bar with a full martini.
The light was lovely on the bar top, so no extra lighting was needed, and this final shot was what I imagined the image to look like while brainstorming beforehand. That never happens for me, so it was exciting to have it occur on this assignment.
