On Assignment | Rebecca Hamilton of the Louisiana Book Festival | 225 Magazine

I had the opportunity to spend some time with Rebecca Hamilton at the Louisiana State Library in early August to get a portrait for this month’s edition of 225.

So when I asked Rebecca where her favorite spot in the library was, she took me up to the fifth floor, which features Louisiana books and authors. We grabbed a few of the new releases and began snapping portraits in the rows of shelves.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that last year’s Louisiana Book Festival was cancelled due to budget cuts and that Hamilton has brought the event back to Baton Rouge this year after some hard work.

Pretty inspiring, huh?
