Y’all, it’s Friday. And can I tell you just HOW excited I am that this week is coming to a close, especially after thinking I had the flu for two days? (Sidenote: I’m feeling better now, and it definitely wasn’t the flu… just felt like it.) Thank goodness it wasn’t the flu. And thank goodness it didn’t knock me out for longer than it actually did.
Also, I’m contemplating offering a mini session marathon here in Baton Rouge for Christmas cards and Christmas photos and just all-around beautiful portraits – because I believe everyone needs good photographs of themselves. I’m currently guaging interest, so if you are interested, head on over to my Facebook fan page and let me know…
And now, without further ado, here are some links I loved this week…
Photography
- Instagram has added some new features for Version 2.0.
- Eric Hines’ Light Sky is stunning.
- Covering Oktoberfest. Love, love, love these images.
- Afghanistan in September 2011. As always, The Big Picture features some impressive images.
- The images of America in Color from 1939 – 1943 are fascinating!
- You know you’re a photojournalist when… Check out the original post and a response. They’re both fantastic and pretty true!
- How Much Should I Charge? An very good answer from AdoramaTV.
- Lucy Nicholson’s “the struggles of a gay military family” was beautifully photographed and written. When DADT was repealed, I would not have thought of this story to be photographed, and Lucy did a beautiful job.
- Shutterbug, a web series about photographers, is out!
Odds & Ends
- Color changing tiles? I want these in my home!
- What kind of coffee addict are you? (Right now, I’m a roastyke, but this could easily change.)
- If you’re a Ryan Adams fan, check out the First Listen that NPR has up of his new album.
- For those Mad Men fans out there, check out this video of Don Draper presenting the new Facebook timeline.
- For a video game ad, Albert Co created Harry Potter scenes out of LEGOs.
What are your Friday favorites?
And make sure to have a happy weekend!
