Clara Jade is a girl after my own heart.
Not only does she run around a mile a minute, zooming from one activity to the next joyfully, but she told me, “No,” a few times when I tried to get her to slow down to snap a portrait. The newspaper photographer in me rejoiced, and I went with the flow, capturing this active girl as she played. When I worked at the paper, very few children wanted to ignore me. They all wanted to see what was going on with my camera. (Not that I’m complaining, but it’s a lot more challenging to capture those in-the-moment shots when every child within 100 yards is gawking at you and your huge camera.)
That being said, I had a blast with Clara Jade and her siblings, and these moments with Clara Jade in motion and having fun in the family’s front yard are lovely.
Look at that face! Look at those big hazel eyes! Clara Jade, you are precious!
Just hanging out with her baby doll…
It took us a little while to get Clara Jade into the tunnel, and we had to wait for her daddy to get home for her to actually go through it, but check out that smile when she actually did!
I don’t know about y’all, but those images make me so happy, and I cannot help but smile.
Check back tomorrow for some images of Clara Jade and Caleb’s little sister, Caroline.
Again, a HUGE thanks to Caleb, Clara Jade and their family for being so wonderful and fun on our shoot this past weekend!
